How to update Charm theme
What is a theme update?
A theme update is a process of upgrading the theme used in a Shopify store to a newer version. We release updates of the themes to introduce new features, enhance performance, and improve the functionality and appearance of the theme.
Theme changelogs
Theme changelogs are detailed records of all modifications, enhancements, and bug fixes made to a theme over time. They help users track what new features have been added and what issues have been addressed in each update.
Our changelogs can be found on the theme listing page under release notes.
- From your Shopify admin, navigate to `
Online Store > Themes`. - Find and select the desired theme from your `
Theme library`. - Click the down arrow next to the theme version number.
- Select
`View release notes`.
How to update a theme
Updating a theme can vary depending on the situation. Some updates can be automated, while others require manual steps. To ensure the right actions are taken based on your specific needs, refer to the official Shopify guide on updating themes. This guide provides detailed instructions on the recommended steps to follow when updating your theme.
Shopify can only update themes installed directly from the Shopify Theme Store. It cannot update ZIP theme files imported from another store.
To get the updated theme, it will need to be downloaded from the Shopify Theme Store.
If the store is inactive, contact the Shopify billing team to request the transfer of the purchased license to your new account. Only Shopify can handle these requests, so for any billing inquiries, reach out to Shopify directly.
We do not sell our themes outside of the Shopify Theme Store!
Please be aware that if you acquired the theme from a third-party source outside of Shopify - this goes against Shopify's TOS. A purchase of the theme will be required in order to download any future updates.
